There are some limitations, and the kind of media you need to incorporate into your Power Point will determine the method you should use to create your Learning Object in Tortal.
If your PowerPoint contains any of the following items, you'll need to use the 2nd option - How to Import a Power Point as a Video Learning Object

- Videos, Gifs, or animations

1. Import your PowerPoint file as a File Type Learning Object
- Use the File Type Learning Object tool to create a new Learning Object form your Power point
- Admin >> Learning Objects >> Upload / Edit Files
- Note the information on File types and size limits
- Admin >> Learning Objects >> Upload / Edit Files
How to Import a Power Point as a Video Learning Object
1. Convert your PowerPoint into a Video File
Though PowerPoint files can be converted into videos in many ways. Tortal recommends the process outlined in the article below - directly from Microsoft support.
Other options include screen capture using your tools of choice or investigating third party converter tools.
2. Upload the new Video file as a Video Learning Object.
Easily create a new Video Learning Object by using the Tortal Course Authoring Tools found here.
- Admin >> Learning Objects >> Video Learning Objects
You can add your video to Tortal by 2 methods
- Create by Share Code - (recommended method)
- Host your content on a Vimeo or Youtube account.
- Copy and paste the video's share link into Tortal.
- Update Info
- Click Save
- Directly upload your file - (counts against your storage)
- Compress video file to meet maximum upload size - (50MB)
- Upload Video
- Update Info
- Click Save

When PowerPoints are embedded with features that can't be translated by our Content Delivery Network, (like video files, background images, etc) then you will get an error.
If you need to have video files in a PowerPoint style slideshow presentation, consider converting your existing PPT slideshow into a Video Learning Object.
This will preserve your style and media choices, while still allowing your content to be trackable by the LMS.
